A Boost of Energy.
Feeling energetic is an important part of being happy. Here are tips for giving you that energy boost!
1) Exercise even a quick ten minute walk will increase your energy and lift up your mood.
2) Listen to lively music. Heck, dance along while you’re at it.
3) Get enough sleep. If you’re getting less than 8 hrs a night, you are running a sleep deficit
4) For some people, taking a 10-30 minute nap is a big help.
5) Act energetic. Research shows that when people move faster, their metabolism speeds up. Acting energetic will make you feel more energetic.
6) Talk to people. Sometimes just chatting with others through the day can leave you feeling energized. So the next time you’re waiting for that train or bus, find something to talk about.
7) Get something done. Crossing a nagging chore off your to-do list not only gives you that sense of achievement but also provides a big rush of energy. For a huge surge, clean out a closet or touch up that wall with paint you have been putting off. You’ll be amazed at how great you feel afterward.
8) Drink more water. Being low on fluids can affect your mental performance. Try drinking one-half to one cup of water for every hour you are awake.
9) Don’t snack on junk food. It’s tempting to reach for a bag of chips or a box of cookies when you’re feeling lethargic, but in the end, all those extra calories will just drag you down even further.
